Invisalign FAQs – Your Guide to Clear Aligners in Kingston

FAQ #1 – Am I a Good Candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign is an orthodontic system designed to treat various malocclusions in teens and adults. Suitability is determined solely through a comprehensive clinical examination. Dr. Samarrae, a general dentist, will evaluate your specific dental anatomy and oral health history to confirm if clear aligners are a safe and effective option for your needs.

Many dental insurance plans include orthodontic benefits that apply to Invisalign. Because every policy varies, our office provides a complimentary insurance pre-determination. We will submit a breakdown of your treatment plan to your provider to help you understand your out-of-pocket responsibilities before treatment begins.

The system utilizes a series of custom-manufactured, BPA-free plastic aligners. Based on a digital 3D scan of your teeth, a series of precise movements is planned. Each aligner set is worn for approximately 1–2 weeks, applying controlled force to gradually transition teeth into their desired positions as prescribed by the dentist.

Invisalign is a clinically proven orthodontic modality supported by extensive peer-reviewed research and millions of completed cases worldwide. Its success depends heavily on patient compliance and the clinical planning provided by the treating dentist

At our office, Invisalign treatment fees typically range from $4,295 to $4,537. This fee is all-inclusive of the initial records, aligners, and progress visits. A final fee is provided after your assessment, as the cost is dependent on the complexity of the movements required and the estimated duration of treatment.

It is recommended to remove aligners when consuming anything other than plain, cool water. Sugary or alcoholic beverages can become trapped against the teeth, increasing the risk of decay (caries), while hot liquids like coffee can warp the medical-grade plastic of the aligners.

Treatment duration varies significantly based on individual clinical needs. While minor cases may be completed in as little as 6 months, more complex tooth movements may require 18 months or longer. An estimated timeline will be provided following your digital treatment simulation (ClinCheck).
